Two Green Bay police officers were honored for their roles in attacking illegal drug activity and lowering crime in the Navarino neighborhood on the city's east side.
Officers Paul VanHandel and Brian Schilt received plaques at Thursday's sixth annual luncheon sponsored by the Crime Prevention Foundation of Brown County, Lt. Bill Bongle said Friday in a statement.
This year, both officers have executed 10 search warrants targeting street-level drug dealers, Bongle said.
Community tips led to other houses being identified, Bongle said.
The foundation funds local crime prevention programs. The foundation was established in 2001, and grants were given out beginning in 2003
If you would like to report suspicious activity or persons in the neighborhood you can contact them at the office phone number, 920-448-3143 and follow the voice prompts.
